About First State Forensics

Built around accurate work and clear explanations.

Founder-led digital forensic consulting for Delaware, the Delmarva region, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, shaped by hands-on investigative experience and a practical understanding of how digital evidence is actually used.

The practice

Digital evidence should be understandable.

First State Forensics was created to give investigators, attorneys, agencies, municipalities, and organizations access to practical digital forensic expertise without unnecessary complexity.

The goal is not to produce the longest report or the most technical explanation. The goal is to answer the right question, preserve the integrity of the evidence, document the method, identify the limitations, and communicate the result clearly.

Work can include independent case review, mobile and computer forensics, artifact and timeline analysis, civil consultation, forensic-lab workflow support, and training for professionals who regularly encounter digital evidence.

Operating principles

Defensible, restrained, useful.

Good forensic work is as much about knowing what the data cannot prove as it is about finding artifacts.

01

Integrity

Preserve source evidence, document the process, validate when appropriate, and separate findings from assumptions.

02

Clarity

Explain technical evidence in plain language while retaining the detail needed for scrutiny and review.

03

Proportionality

Use the least complicated approach that can reliably answer the actual investigative or legal question.

04

Independence

Report what the evidence supports, identify limitations, and avoid stretching technical findings beyond the data.
